Sci-Fi Bar

My first proper environment art scene. Done as part of Kevin Adanan's course in 3D Environmental Design at Pulse College. There's lots I'd change and do better about this project now, but it was still a huge deal for me and I'm proud of it. I learned so much over my time making this project. From learning the whole pipeline of modelling low poly to high poly, UV unwrapping, baking, populating a scene, lighting, and balancing reflections, this project was really valuable to my process now. I had a lot of background in colour theory and composition from my Fine Art degree so it gave me the confidence I needed to be proud of this project :)

Short video showcasing some of the movement I incorporated into this scene. I think it breathes a bit of life into this otherwise spookily empty bar. Very 2020

For such a simple asset, the metal vents really added a lot of character

Overall diorama shot. Thinking it's a bit big to be a diorama now

My hero asset - a futuristic energy pod. I added the particle effects through blueprinting in Unreal.

My very first blockout of the scene, done up very quick and dirty in blender. Getting an idea of the shapes of the scene.

Further Work-in-Progress shots, I added in the metal vents on the floor to differentiate parts of the bar and it helped a LOT.

The diorama was originally WAY bigger, there were two floors. I scaled it back though, for quality > quantity and timeframe reasons. Also, adding floor tiles
